Above & Beyond Compassionate Care

In Home Senior Care

in home care lakelandAt Above and Beyond Compassionate Care, we provide our clients high quality senior care and services meeting each of their unique needs.  Our services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and our caregivers are professional, courteous, and efficient.  Our individual rates are inclusive for a homemaker, companion, and sitter services, including nights and weekends.  24-hour non-alert and alert care are available upon request during the consultation.

Our experienced caregivers are matched with clients according to their interests. Our senior care compatibility is very important between clients and caregivers.  When clients have difficulty adjusting to the need for a caregiver in their home, sharing a common bond allows for a smoother transition by helping the client feel more comfortable. Caregivers can read to clients, play cards with them, and accompany clients to outside activities and appointments if needed.

Caregivers are also available to sit with clients at hospitals, assisted living facilities, rehab facilities or nursing homes.  We understand how stressful being the primary caregiver for a loved one can be.  You need time for yourself and upon request, a caregiver will sit with your loved one so you can have that time without feeling pressured to come back quickly.   Having lunch with friends, going to a movie, shopping or just relaxing somewhere away from daily stresses is very important in maintaining your health as the primary caregiver to your loved one.

Patty DAngelico

Owner Patty Dangelico started Above and Beyond Compassionate Care to satisfy a much-needed service in her community; one that would help elderly and disabled adults receive the compassion and care they deserve during this time in their lives.  For years, Patty worked in nursing homes, hospitals and doctors’ offices caring for people.  Taking care of those that couldn’t care for themselves was just something that came naturally to her.  When Patty thought about starting her own agency she knew she only wanted to work with caregivers who were caring, compassionate and would go above and beyond for their clients and so Above and Beyond Compassionate Care was born.

Originally from upstate New York, Patty has lived in Florida since 2001 with her husband Glenn. They have a son Stephen, Donna and their grandson Anthony.

I think that I first became interested in helping older seniors when I became a caregiver for my grandmother back in the early 1990’s. It was not difficult to think about wanting to help her, because I loved her so much, but it did get me to thinking about serving others in this way. To be able to help senior friends to live their lives in their own homes for as long as they could, but with the help that they needed for things like laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping, was very appealing to me, as well as to provide the companionship that they longed for so they were not lonely. When my sister Patty approached me about the idea of managing a branch of her agency in my area of New York, it was a perfect fit for me! These older seniors in our community are a part of our history. Many of them have amazing stories to tell, and I love for them to share about their lives with me, and now, with our Above and Beyond team. We want them to know that they matter, and bringing joy to them, brings joy to me!

As a young girl, I always knew I wanted to become a nurse and 45 years later– I still AM!Now semi-retired from critical care bedside nursing and teaching at a Ft Worth nursing school, I decided to join my sisters in companion care.I bring experience and a wealth of knowledge in looking at whole picture in developing a plan of care for each individual client.I’m actively involved in care of new clients and love nothing better than to see a look of peace or satisfaction on their faces when they express satisfaction with level of care provided.A two year ADN graduate from (then) Adirondack Community College, I returned to college later in life to achieve not only a bachelor’s of science in nursing, but moved full speed ahead to tackle a master’s degree.
Later, as I approached 60, I decided to add critical care certification to my skill set, which is now utilized to further teach clients and family and seek solutions outside the box in developing a plan of care.Caring for families and loved ones is a distinct privilege in my life and I hope to bring a passion and enthusiasm in helping others remain home to our area.
